In the rapidly advancing world of construction, a new generation of builders is reshaping the industry from the ground up. These pioneers are not only redefining how structures are built but are also challenging traditional models by adopting steel frame solutions, metal stud framing, and in-house roll forming as the backbone of their operations. With a sharp focus on speed, precision, and scalability, these forward-thinking companies are leveraging cutting-edge technology and automation to gain control over their own steel frame production. Often launching their ventures with limited capital but a bold vision, these builders are stepping into the steel framing market with determination and agility. By investing in advanced frame machine technology and mastering the roll forming process, they are setting themselves up for long-term success. Whether producing standard studs and tracks or fully engineered wall panels, these companies are demonstrating that with the right tools, training, and support, it’s possible to build efficient, high-output operations from day one. Through their commitment to continuous learning and smart manufacturing, they are positioning steel framing not just as a construction method—but as a competitive advantage.

Embracing Steel Framing and Roll Forming from the Ground Up

Many of today’s rising steel framing companies are first-time entrants into the world of metal stud framing and framing machine operations. Whether commercial, residential, or mixed-use, these builders are opting for the precision, speed, and scalability of roll forming as a foundation for their business. From leased warehouse spaces to new construction facilities and even containerized traveling production facilities, they are setting up shops with one goal in mind: to manufacture high-quality steel frames with autonomy and efficiency.

These startups often begin with a clear vision but minimal infrastructure. Still, they commit quickly to understanding every aspect of the steel framing process, from framing software and equipment calibration to workflow optimization and quoting strategies. We assist our customers with their metal stud framing factory design and setup based on their available space configuration and size as well as considering their business objectives. The steel framing operations will look different when our customers are just producing metal studs and tracks in linear quantity vs. when they are panelizing steel-framed components or when producing an entire modular structural unit. These are details that make a difference in the success of our customers’ business, and we have the insight to share.

A Training Experience That Builds More Than Just Steel Frames

Every successful launch begins with education. Our hands-on training programs are designed to empower operators, whether they’re new to steel frame machines or already familiar with metal stud framing. Our training covers everything from machine calibration and punch location adjustments to software integration and real-world troubleshooting.

We encourage active learning by allowing our trainees to experiment, learn from small mistakes, and develop deep, practical knowledge. This approach ensures our customers don’t just run machines, but they master the roll forming process and build lasting capabilities.

From Empty Space to Fully Operational Roll Forming Facilities

The transformation from an empty warehouse to an operational steel frame production plant is a defining moment for any startup. With the delivery of a new frame machine, the arrival of coil shipments, and the rollout of outfeed tables, what was once a bare shop becomes a productive, high-output facility. The first successfully formed and assembled part becomes more than just a component—it becomes a milestone.

Even under tough conditions—like unfinished buildings, borrowed equipment, or delayed parts—we help our customers build with determination, turning setbacks into learning moments and progress into pride.

Growing with Confidence

Post-training, many of our customers continue to seek support as they grow. From bidding strategies and estimating tools to ongoing engineering and software questions, we provide continuous engagement to ensure long-term success. When steel framing project inquiries arise in our customer’s region, we are proud to refer those opportunities to support business growth.

Construction and steel framing industry events like NAHB IBS offer a valuable chance for our customers to network, discover new market trends, and solidify their place in the broader steel framing ecosystem. Participation in these events signals a strong commitment to scaling operations and expanding professional reach.

Case Study

Velent Steel – From Concept to Capability

One such example is Velent Steel, a commercial and residential framing company based in Centerton, Northwest Arkansas. New to cold-formed steel and roll forming, Velent Steel leased a 9,000-square-foot metal building and started with just two team members: Kyle, handling operations in Arkansas, and Shawn, a software expert based in Utah. They purchased three frame machines: Scotpanel 7090, Scotpanel 5140, and Scottruss 6050. Velent Steel staff underwent two weeks of in-person training with our staff in their facility. The team quickly overcame challenges, and the facility evolved into a fully functional metal stud framing plant. Since then, Velent Steel has reached out for support and attended NAHB IBS 2025 and is actively growing its presence in the region. Our 24-hour global support and service team continue to assist Velent Steel and our other customers through rollforming, software, design, and any topics related to fabrication of steel framing.
